INCI names accepted in pre-introduction reports under limited circumstances

If your introduction is in the 'reported' category and you need to submit a pre-introduction report (PIR), you can provide an INCI name instead of a CAS or IUPAC name for your chemical. But you must meet strict criteria.

We've added new guidance to explain when we will accept an International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredient (INCI) name as the chemical's 'proper name'. This means that if you meet all criteria, you can choose to provide an INCI name for your chemical in your PIR.
