What is an annual declaration?

This is a declaration you make to confirm that the industrial chemicals you imported or manufactured during the previous registration year were authorised under the Industrial Chemicals Act 2019.

If you're registered with us and you introduced industrial chemicals … or products containing industrial chemicals (like cosmetics, soaps, paints, inks and plastics) … you must make an annual declaration.

This is on top of registering with AICIS.

You can submit your annual declaration from August each year. The due date to submit it is the 30th of November after the end of each registration year.

Here’s an example. If you introduced chemicals between the 1st of September 2023 and 31 August 2024, you must submit your annual declaration for that year by the 30 November 2024.

To submit an annual declaration, log into your AICIS Business Services account with your username and password … and go to the Annual Declaration tile.
You’ll need to select all the introduction categories that apply to the chemicals you imported or manufactured during the registration year.

If you don't know which categories to select, you'll need to go back and categorise each chemical you introduced. For help, see our categorisation guide in the Help and guides section of our website.

If any of your introductions were in the exempted category, you’ll also need to select each type that applies.

Here's an example. If you imported or manufactured chemicals that were categorised as listed and exempted, select the boxes next to Listed Introductions and

Exempted Introductions.

Then select which exempted introductions apply from the list.

Next, complete the declaration, add your name and job title, and click submit. That's it - you're done.

If you didn’t introduce any chemicals during the previous year, you can let us know by selecting ‘Did not introduce’ in our business portal.
