Thank you for your feedback to our public consultation on changes to the AICIS Industrial Chemicals Categorisation Guidelines for 2025. Our summary of the consultation outcome includes feedback we received and our responses.

We are seeking feedback on the clarity of the information requirements that will be added to the form for an AICIS assessment certificate application for a chemical that is a ‘designated fluorinated chemical’.

Our new video recommends the best ways to search the Inventory, what it could mean if you don’t find your chemical and what to do if you don’t get a result.

We took a snapshot of all the chemicals on the Inventory on 3 January 2025 and published it as a downloadable spreadsheet.

A new self-guided decision tool for soap introducers regarding AICIS registration.

We have revised the ‘Step 0: Introductions that are categorised as listed’ page of the online Categorisation Guide to make it clearer and easier to follow.

We have revised our online categorisation guide to reflect the latest version of the Industrial Chemicals Categorisation Guidelines (version 3).

You must submit a PID for 2023-24 if you introduced a chemical for the first time between 1 September 2023 and 31 August 2024 under certain exempted categories.

A new version of the Industrial Chemicals Categorisation Guidelines will be published on 24 September 2024. The guidelines set out the technical details and requirements that introducers need to categorise industrial chemical introductions in Australia.

An annual declaration is evidence that your chemical introductions were authorised under the Industrial Chemicals Act 2019.

A new downloadable spreadsheet of the Inventory is now available.

From 1 September 2024, AICIS fees and charges to industrial chemical introducers will change, along with introduction value thresholds across most registration levels.

Registration is now open in our Business Services portal for the upcoming AICIS registration year (1 September 2024 to 31 August 2025).
