Variation to Inventory listing after evaluation: CAS No. 119344-86-4 - 20 August 2025

The specific requirement to provide information to AICIS as a term of the listing will be varied for 1-butanone, 2-(dimethylamino)-2-[(4-methylphenyl)methyl]-1-[4-(4-morpholinyl)phenyl]- (CAS No. 119344-86-4) on the Australian Inventory of Industrial Chemicals (Inventory).

Reasons for varying the Inventory listing

AICIS completed an evaluation under Part 4 of the Industrial Chemicals Act 2019 (IC Act). AICIS published its final evaluation statement on 26 June 2025, following public consultation. 

For the reasons set out in page 8 paragraph 2 of the conclusions section of the evaluation statement, the Executive Director of AICIS concluded that a variation to the Inventory terms of listing for the chemical is necessary to manage the risks from the introduction of the chemical.

Therefore, the Executive Director is varying the terms of listing for the chemical on the Inventory under section 86 of the IC Act.

You must tell the Executive Director the volume of introduction, use and end use of the chemical within 20 working days if:

  • The chemical is being introduced for consumer end use including in ink toner, colourant products, paints and/or coatings, except uses in articles.
  • The end use of the chemical has changed or is likely to change from:
    • ink toner and colourant products
    • paints and coatings.
  • The amount of the chemical being introduced exceeds 10 tonnes.
  • The chemical has begun to be manufactured in Australia.
  • Information has become available to the person as to an adverse effect of the chemical on the environment.
