See a preview of upcoming changes to the 2026 Categorisation Guidelines

Thank you to everyone that provided feedback between 13 November 2025 and 28 January 2026 on proposed changes to the 2026 AICIS Industrial Chemicals Categorisation Guidelines.

After reviewing and considering all submissions, these changes will take effect from September 2026:

  • Updates to the list of chemicals with high hazards for categorisation, including 293 new entries and updates to 122 existing entries.
  • Addition of 5 chemicals to part 6.5.2 of the Guidelines: Information required to demonstrate the absence of developmental toxicity.
  • Revised single definition of 'chemical identity holder'.
  • Updated links and minor editorial changes.
