Do you need to submit a post-introduction declaration (PID) for 2025–26?

Some introducers need to submit a PID for the 2025–26 registration year.

Do you need to submit a PID for an exempted introduction?

You must submit a post-introduction declaration (PID) if you introduced a chemical under one of these exempted categories for the first time between 1 September 2025 and 31 August 2026:

  • a polymer of low concern
  • a low-concern biological polymer
  • introductions that meet the criteria for very low risk to human health and the environment at steps 4 and 5 of the categorisation guide.

Due date: 30 November 2026

Important to know

  • A PID is in addition to the annual declaration and must be submitted separately.
  • A PID is a one-off declaration per chemical introduction – don't submit another PID for the same chemical if you submitted one previously and the introduction circumstances haven’t changed.
  • If you’ve introduced more than one type of exempted introduction that requires a PID, you must submit a separate declaration for each.
  • Agents or consultants can submit PIDs on behalf of the registered introducer (importer or manufacturer).

Example: You introduced 2 chemicals for the first time in the exempted category during 2025–26. One is a polymer of low concern (PLC) and the other is categorised as very low risk for human health and the environment. This means you’ll need to submit 2 separate declarations, one for each introduction.
