We’re asking anyone with hazard or exposure information on chemicals that are on our Rolling Action Plan to voluntarily share it with us. We will use your information in our chemical evaluations.

Your input will help us to refine our risk assessments and develop regulatory recommendations based on data. We are requesting this information under section 75 of the Industrial Chemicals Act 2019 (IC Act).
Information we're looking for
We're seeking hazard and high-level exposure information to support our current chemical evaluations.
Specifically, we're interested in:
- product use categories (e.g. paints and coatings, personal care products)
- whether the products are used by the public
- volume and concentration ranges.
We are not asking for detailed information such as specific product names.
If you'd like information you give us to be treated confidentially
If the information you provide about a chemical we're evaluating is commercially sensitive or confidential, you can ‘flag’ it with us - there is no fee to do this.
We'll treat any information you flag as protected and non-publishable. If we later decide that publishing the information is in the public interest, we'll notify the nominated contact in advance via a section 113 notice. You'll then have the opportunity to apply for formal protection of CBI. There is a fee for formal CBI applications.
Here’s some examples that would help us in an evaluation:
- Data – animal studies or other sources – about the presence or absence of hazardous properties for a chemical or group of chemicals.
- How the chemical(s) is/are used in Australia – for example, what products they’re in, at what concentrations, and whether the products are available to the public.
- The volume of the chemical(s) you’re introducing in Australia.
