If you've worked out that you must tell us about your introduction to meet specific information requirement (SIR) obligations, use these guides to help you understand and complete the SIR form.
There are 3 types in AICIS Business Services:
Chemical assessed as a PLC: Use this form if you know that the chemical was assessed as a polymer of low concern (PLC)
SIR details known (excluding chemicals assessed as a PLC): Use this form if you know the circumstances where there is a specific requirement to provide information, in relation to the chemical introduction. For example, you might know this because:
- You have viewed the Inventory listing and the detailed assessment report or statement that relates to the chemical.
- You have not viewed the Inventory listing, but you have viewed the detailed assessment report that relates to the chemical.
- You have been given a copy of the detailed SIR circumstances.
Other SIR submission: Use this form if the other 2 do not apply. This includes where you want to submit information to AICIS in relation to the introduction of an Inventory-listed chemical, but do not know the circumstances where there is a specific requirement to provide information.
After submitting the form, we’ll send you or the business contact you nominated a confirmation email. You don’t need to contact us or follow up with us. If we have any questions about your submission, we’ll contact you. If the circumstances of your introduction changes, you may need to submit a new SIR form.
If you have been nominated as a chemical identity holder or chemical data provider, we’ll contact you when processing the SIR form. We’ll ask you to provide chemical identity information and any other information, such as concentration information, that the introducer has told us you hold. We do not disclose chemical identity information to the introducer. If any other information such as concentration information or new hazard information is commercially sensitive, you may flag it as confidential when replying to our request for information.
