What to expect in the annual Guidelines update
Our annual update to the 'list of chemicals with high hazards for categorisation' will come into effect in September 2026 and include:
- addition of 249 chemicals
- updates to 121 chemical entries
- removal of 2 chemicals and correction of one chemical's CAS number.

We're seeking your feedback on these changes which are also planned for the September 2026 Guidelines:
- We will add 5 more chemicals to part 6.5.2 of the Guidelines because their salts or esters have been identified as having potential developmental toxicity – do you think any other chemicals should also be added to part 6?
- We will replace the current dual definition of 'chemical identity holder' with a single new definition – do you agree with this updated definition?
