Decision tool – Work out if your introduction is automatically categorised as reported

This decision tool is related to step 3 of the process to categorise your chemical introduction.

This decision tool will help you determine if your introduction is in the reported category. There are 1‐3 questions depending on your circumstances. This tool refers to the Industrial Chemicals General Rules.

  • does it meet criteria for introduction of a chemical at the nanoscale used only for research and development
  • does it meet criteria for introduction of a chemical used only for research and development
  • does it meet criteria for introduction of a low risk flavour or fragrance blend
